Hi,

seems like my ministarter quit. When I turn the key it only clicks. Changed the magnetic switch (don't know the proper name) already from a spare starter, no effect, it moves the gear forward but it doesnt turn.

What can i do?

I think I have eliminated all other possibilities like starter relay, weak battery, corroded terminals.

Is it possible to disassemble the ministarter? Is there anything I should be aware of when taking it apart?

the prices are so low its cheaper just to r/r the old one ,i got one used from a recycling yard(?) and it works fine on my 500strkr.

Not on this side of the pond ... :-(

I thought about mating the two damaged ones into one that works ... bad idea?

You have nothing to lose by trying.Go to the local parts store and order one for a 3.9l minivan or truck application.Stock starter is same size and will work fine.I believe you have to remove a tab that older cars don't use.
