Thanks, I will have a new driveshaft made, I am going with 1350 plus my existing driveshaft was short and it is worst with the Hotchkis leaf springs. Does everyone just do it like it was on OEM?

I have'nt seen anyone fab one up out of phase...Remember {at ride height,suspension loaded} to slide the yoke in and bottom it out...Pull it back out 3/4 inch and take your measurement for the shaft length....1350s are a beefy unit...They'll definitely be a good upgrade...

If you made it out of phase like the top it would break the u-joints and could wear / damage the trans or rear pinion.

I don't really see why it would matter, aren't the u-joints made to pivot in all directions independently?

it wil cause the u-joints to wear faster and cause harmonic problems
out of phase the u-joints spin at diff speeds at the angles...kinda wobbles if you will.
I have seen a lot of 4x4 drive shafts with this problem from the DIY home brewed shafts.

74 360 Cuda – Get a driveshaft made by a shop that understands performance cars. Some don’t. You should never get a driveshaft made to stock specs. You should always measure it for your specific vehicle. The driveshaft shop will tell you exactly how THEY want you to measure it. Make sure your car is begin supported safely by jack stands under the rear end or you measure with your car on a drive-on rack. The car should be level too. The rear suspension should be compressed. New leaf springs can change the pinion angle by nature of repositioning the axle in relation to the body. Any ride height changes can alter pinion angle. Worn out U-joints can be aggravated by slight pinion angle changes from ride height change too. Have you checked your U-joints?

Thank you for the advices,I was aware of all that, just installed a set of your rear leaf springs and will be taking pignion angle measurement to see if I need to shim. I am also upgrading to 1350 joints with billet yokes...

Just checked pinion angle with Hotchkis leaf springs. Tranny 3.5 down,pinion 1.5 up... looks like I have 2.5 degree of pinion angle, Should be good 
I hope I won't need shims because I found that the Hotchkis leaf springs are dropping the car to the limits of my taste (& ground clearance when matching the front) so I don't want the shims to drop it further...
