I've heard of the alternator that is ~5 lbs. lighter than the average one.
Which brand/type alternator is this?

Mancini Racing sells Denso conversion kits. The Denso alternators are used on almost all newer cars although some of the OEM also use Bosch or other brands.

If youre looking for the 1 wire 'performance', never in production
these are made, or modified ,
look at a ram 50 truck ,some of the neons ,even other makes some toyotas, mitsbisieees, etc , all can be made 1 wire,

These 60 amp racing alternators from Powermaster are 10 lbs lighter than a standard Mopar alternator. They also work better but they are fairly expensive. Mancini has the mounting kits.
