How many ounces of freon does the A/C in a 2000 Dodge Ram 3500 hold?
It has a small leak when fully charged it takes about 2 years for it to all leak out.

I have the gauge and can put it in myself, just not sure how much I need to buy.

I'm pretty sure it's 2 lbs.

my dodge dakota used 2 lbs. never had to fill a full size truck though.

I don't think the size of the truck or the length of the lines affects how much freon they need.

It should say on a sticker under the hood how much it holds.

THANKS for the help!!! I think I may start with 2 12 oz cans and go back for a 3rd if I have too. Looks like they would make 16 oz cans.
Again Thanks for the help!!!

that would make as much sense as hot dogs coming in the same number per package as hot dog buns!

they want you to have to buy a 3rd container for that last few ounces you need!

just don't overfill it, I've heard that an overfull AC system will act just like an empty one, and won't work.

They used to, they dropped to 14 oz. and eventually 12 oz. so folks wouldn't notice the increase in price per ounce...eventually the point became moot.
