70 b body starter relay - 04/27/11 04:54 PM

I want to put a new starter relay in my 70 Runner. Looking at NAPAs website they show a different one for auto and 4speed. My car is a 4speed car but now has a auto in it. What are the differences and which one should I get?

Thanks

I could be wrong but I think the difference is with the provision for the neutral safety switch

The one for an auto has a separate lug , lower left corner ... pretty sure , that is connected to the trans neutral safety switch ... BUT I thought in 1970 they put a switch on the clutch pedal that connected to the same place , if this is the case it's the same relay for either trans .

1970 and later makes no difference, it's the same relay
2944442 is the OE number - still avail thru Mopar
