Dana 60 BOM numbers - 04/21/11 05:24 AM

I need some help identifying a dana 60 I just picked up. I have looked all over the net and can't find this number. The bom number is 602829. Date code looks like it was 3-20-7. All the numbers I have found start with 68 production year. Thanks, Beep

Numbers are pretty clear. one date code is 3-10-7 and the second date code is 3-20-7. I am pretty sure it was a 3.54 gear originally, now 5.13.

I also have a 602957 bom unit that came from 69 that is all original with 3.54 with a date code of 3-25-9. Beep

Yes to both.

23 spline and a powerloc with a 2-24-67 date code. Now has a 5.13 gear with a ring gear spacer on it.

Other than the gear and the spring perches being removed, it looks stock.

I had looked at that page and it doesn't list any car axles for 66-67. They start with the 602957 BOM for the 68 model year. I figured someone on here would have went thru this before now. Is there anyone on here with a 67 dana car? Beep

The car still has the orginal weather stripping. It has the correct motor, trans ,rearend, everything that came with the car new back in 1967. The car was repainted about 3 yrs ago before I got it. From looking at the car in the trunk it looks like it was orginally a green car. The car drives great for a big car it moves out nice hey its got a hemi in it..

The numbers I found on the motor are as follows Cast Date 10-3-66 Build Date 11-15-66 this number is cast on both sides of block 2468330-2
The trans numbers are passenger side A 3
C- 97372 above that number painted on is 394
On the drivers side of the trans on clutch cover C 956642 1y18
Dana 60 rearend the numbers are build date 8-26-66
Bill of material 602829-1

Thank you. I assume that yours has the 3.54 gear as it is a -1 suffix.

Also, sounds like a killer ride. Thanks again, Beep

Re: Dana 60 BOM numbers - 02/08/12 01:50 AM

I agree with 440beep. I have a 602829-7 dated Feb 16 of '66. I was told my rear was originally a 4.10 but making it a 3.54. The best I can come up with is this # is a 66-67 PowerLock rearend. Just my 2 cents added to the Mopar Chronicles!
