Hood clearamce using an airgap and Performer Carb - 04/04/11 07:05 PM

I want to use an Edlebrock Airgap manifold with an Edelbrock 600 CFM Performer Carb. on a 360 in a 72 Swinger and am concerned about hood clearance .

Any comments?

Never had a problem with my old valiant...used a drop based air filter and 5" filter.

Well..
The Swinger is an A-Body, and my car is the direct decendant M-Body.
Dimensionally the same from what I understand. At least under the hood.
Currently running the factory 318 with a Crosswind Air-Gap knock off with a Carter AVS that is for a 1970 340/Automatic. Also have a 14" chrome air cleaner from Mancini.
No clearance problems at all. Could even run a 1" spacer if I wanted-but I don't need it- the Crosswind is a very good 'grunt' manifold.

Hope this helps,
CC.
