i have a 69 road runner that im starting to work on the car has no wiring for the engine compartment.and now im at a cross road as to put back a orginal type harness or a universal harness.the car is far from orignal and with the ammeter problem evorybody talks about what are some of you all doing
ps im not afraid of wiring it would just cost to much to buy the supplies seperatly or else id make my own.
it's just a suggestion but i would buy a re-pop.
Myself I'd get some spools of wire in the gauges/colors you need & NAPA has the 1/4" male 725147 and female 725145 brass terminals (I think those #'s are correct) & do it yourself. You'll cut/route each wire the exact length & crimp solder each end for a top notch job. I did it on my 65 Dart & it cant b too much more bare bones than a 69. Not difficult & you'll b pleased w the outcome from doing it yourself. Use an eyeglass mini screwdriver to remove the brass terminals from the plastic (bakelite?) connectors. PM if you need more details on how to do that EDIT I also went 1 gauge larger IE 14ga to 12ga on each wire as it's cheap insurance & I figure Ma went w the minimum needed to get by

might sound like the thing to do then i have access to a company called bowman .its where i used to work and they use to have all kinds of old stuff like wiring ends clips .i have all kinds of terminal ends split loom and cable clamps , just not much wire ill look stuff tommorow thanks

One more vote for DIY. That way you can put in an electronic VR and electronic ignition, have a little more electrical reliability, and still keep it Mopar. Loads of JY cars have the necessary harness pigtails: VR, distributor, ballast resistor, ECU, coolant temp, oil pressure, windshield washer, etc. And with nice trimming, soldering and heat-shrink tubing, the old wires need not show.
