I'd think the performer 750 would be jetted fairly rich out of the box. refresh us on the symptoms.

Your combo is fairly close to one I had a while back, and I was running the Eddy carb - got rid of it after months of trying and went with the Mighty Demon 750. Right off, it solved most of the problems I was having.

don't say that the carterbrock faithful will hear you.
That said, buy the jet kit and have a go at it. I think they are shipped with almost the biggest rods. Make sure the floats are set well and yo have no more than 7psi of fuel pressure. Then tune it with a good vacuum gauge. Also you timing should be set beofre you try and adjust the carb.

This is one case where your standard get a holley and never look back ... would be a welcome response , the performer 750 is a piece of junk .

might not be a carb problem, have you checked your volts at the coil? I had a balast go bad and guess what ot would start run fine as soon as you dropped it into gear it would flutter and die...just a thought.

theyre acell 3-4 years old never had a single problem with this engine untill i put this 484 cam in. I had a resto mod cam before then what happened was i had a bad fuel pump that leaked gas into the block wrecking the bearings and the cam so i decied when i replacd everything to up the cam in it to the 484

I have not heard good things about those wires. Even if you don't think they are a problem I would check them for ohms resistence...you may be suprised. 150 ohms per foot is the MOST I would let slide. Firecore50's are yep 50 ohms per foot and worth the coin if you find your current wires suck.
