That is the proper name ...I have one coming ... in steel and alum rod ... with a hard PVC coating on it.

5/16" hex rod will do it.
Or a 3/8" diameter peice of tubing or rod with a 5/16" hex ground on one end. It don't have to be a perfect hex, it isn't hard to do on a bench grinder. A round rod isn't gonna hurt the bushing in the block.

I made the one in this picture with yellow tape about 15 years ago and have used it to prime hemis with 60 weight oil in them dozens of times. The yellow tape only idenifies it as a tool, it's not on there to protect the bushing.

Here it is stuck in a 440.

Some times 5/16 hex rod is hard to find.

If you need to prime it in a hurry and dont want to wait for shipping go to lowes and buy one of there speed fit file they have its the fancy one you can change the handle on. Its the right size 5/16 hex drive for the oil pumps and I just taped the file so I did not nic my bushing.
Some might not like it but I thought it was pretty slick I found it when I just had to fire my engine and did not want to wait.

Grab a piece of stock & grind a hex on your bench grinder as close as you can/deburr it on the wire wheel/some tape on the bushing area if you desire & you're set. As you know turn the crank to oil the heads EDIT read "breakin secrets" at www.mototuneusa.com (excellent 5 min read on ring breakin)

Take an old oil pump drive gear, grind the teeth off the gear and then take the shaft out of an old distributor and use that in your drill. Or weld it to the oil pump drive shaft.

In my picture above is a stock oil pump drive shaft. You can push the gear off without grinding. But then you still have to use something to drive it. I stuck a hose clamp on the end of mine and used a screw driver shank in a drill. It's sucky way of doing it, but if you only have to do it once.
