98 Voyager 3.0 Crank Seal Replacement? - 12/30/10 05:52 PM
I have a 98 Voyager with a 3.0 engine. Wife just had the oil changed and the mechanic said it needed a crank seal or a cam seal as it has been leaking oil. Cost for this was quoted between 300-500 bucks!! Is it that big of a job??

I don't know what his labor rate is but to do just the front cam seals pays 5.2 hours and the front crank seal pays 4.3 hours. Would be a little less if all done at the same time.

Is this the mitsubishi 3.0 it is a fun one. All the front accessories come off,the power steering pump has one stud/nut that is attached to a exhaust stud"it sometimes comes off" the timing cover, damper, Timing belt. just it get to the oil seal. While you are in there have him do the waterpump, new timing belt and timing belt tensionor.
