How to plug air injection ports?

So during my Remflex gasket install to help solve this header leak, i checked for the air injection ports and sure enough, there they are... im still going to put the remflexs in because they have such good reviews here, but now i need to know how to plug those ports!!!... i read that they are threaded but the picture i saw of one and from what i can see of mine, i didnt see any threads... so how do i plug these suckers so i can finally enjoy my car completely!!

Go to the hardware store and buy a tap thread them and use allen plugs.

I have always cleaned the holes out well and plugged with JB and smoothed over with my finger while still wet and never had a leak or plug fall out.

i was thinking jb weld too... because the headers are in the car and even disconnected they dont fall out of the way enough to get a tap in there... probably gonna have to raise the whole motor up to get in there with a tap... but i could definitely get my finger and some jb weld in there as it sits.....

anyone else use jb weld successfully??...

do you happen to remember the size off hand?... i read 1/4" online... and the tech guy at Aero (whose heads im using) said 1/4 or 5/16... not sure which...

They are 1/4 by 20 and need to be at least 3/4in long. You will find some that go in without tapping - the others are really easy to tap. I don't think they are cutting into iron - just into the old crusty carbon deposits. Be sure to use locktite red as I have blown some out before! Also don't be surprised if you still have a leak after they are filled - I'm still chasing one on the drivers rear (of all places) with my Headman Long-Tubes. I may have to cut the flange AND use those thick carbon gaskets AFTER yet another removal for evaluation of those stubborn ports. I'm beginning to think that the JB-Weld idea would have been much simpler. BTW - brake and carb cleaner works good to clean them out but be sure to wear eye protection - DAMHIK!

I JB'd the ones on my Ram Charger's 318 years ago... held for as long as I owned the truck which was like 5 years or so. The cheap headers rusted to pieces, but the JB was just fine. ;-)
