Vibrations re re re re revisited - 12/12/10 11:50 PM

Again in my never ending quest to eliminate a vibration in my 72 cuda I think I caught some conversation on here about tranny locating dowels that may be the cause. I am actually missing one on the passenger side of my engine. After thinking about this I'm sure it could be a cause. Where do I get one and am I right assuming this? I've got all winter to put one in.

Does it vibrate with the throttle application and at a stop or only while moving? A transmission dowel is a possibility but then it will vibrate at a stop in park or neutral as well as at speed. You have verified you're running the correctly weighted(or non-weighted) torq converter/flywheel and balancer for your crankshaft?
