b body pitman arm dust boot - 10/15/10 08:10 PM

Hi
the boot over the rotating knuckle which functions like a tie rod end on my steering arm is torn and needs to be replaced. I can not find this at the local auto store and have no luck with a internet search. Anyone know where this item can be found, last thing I want to do is buy a new steering arm $$ for a low cost grease boot. I will not reinstall without a boot though.
thanks Moparts

The Help section at your local Vatozone sells generic boots, considering where the stuff is made the life span is ??? Or you can get a poly one from a place like PST, maybe energy suspension? That boot is the same on all the pitman arms so you don't necessarily have to buy the $150 arm to get one .

thanks for the input, alreay went down the road of the generic boots in the help parts, none were applicable. I will follow thru on the part# at my Mopar dealer. It was not in the plan to spend big $$ for a low $$ part, just needed to figure out where or if the part existed. Thanks for the quick response.

yeah thats the catch. list is $42.60 it does show all the boots across the linkage to be the same, maybe if you had a parts car?

I went down this road with an A body pitman arm. Most replacements don't even come with boots anymore, just a felt washer. Steer And Gear has them though apparently.
