Duster Driveshaft Length../6 to 318, 7 1/4 to 8 1/4

Swapped out the original 7 1/4 for an 8 1/4 in our '70 Duster. Put the /6 - 904 combo back in for now; gonna upgrade to 318 - 904 in the near future.

Haven't shortened the driveshaft yet and only wanna have to do it once.

So, should the 'shaft length for the /6 - 904 - 8 1/4 be the same as 318 - 904 - 8 1/4?

Yes, the 904's are the same length and sit in the same spot so the driveshaft is the same. Once you shorten it for the 8.25 you'll be set.

Mine was 49.5 inches (904 with 8.25) u-joint center to center.
