Shaker Hood Question

In the 70's, where did the shaker hoods have their drain tubes? Did they go down, or straight out? Saw a Cuda at a car show and the drain tubes were aimed out toward the fenders.

the hoses are not that long...they barely touch down past the p/s pump and the fuel pump
