shop rate (how much) - 09/06/10 04:50 PM

Can somebody tell me what a shope rate would be to swap out a brake booster on a 00' Jeep GC? Looks like a not so hard fix.

According to Mitchell Ultramate, it pays .7 hours, which includes the labor for the master cylinder.

Shop Rate:
Dealer $95.00/hr.
Independant: $65/hr.
Jose's Garage: $30/hr.
Friend: NOT worth it.
Yourself: Priceless.

You need to know how many hrs. Chiltons says it requires.

Or were you asking for that in the first place?

Dealerships usually have their own rates set by the manufacturer. Typically they're less than what AllData or Mitchell would list

WOW dude quoted me 2 hours at $87/hr. So I swaped it myself. If he told me .7 I would have let them do it.

Unless they have changed in recent times, the only time the dealer uses the Chrysler flat rates is for warranty work. The rest of the the time they use Chilton or Mitchell time because they allow more time than the Chrysler flat rate.
