Adjusting transverse torsion bars

Adjusting transverse torsion bars - 08/28/10 03:02 AM

I have a complete Volare frontend sitting on a dolly in my garage and the thought came to me about adjusting the torsion bars.

I was wondering if these transverse torsion bars adjust the same way that the longitudinal torsion bar does. Clockwise to raise the car and counter-clockwise to lower the car. Or would it be that I would have to adjust one bar clockwise & the other bar counter-clockwise to raise or lower the car?

Who can tell me?

Just curious.

Thanks,

Scott

Just look at it and figure it out.

It's been about 15 years since I've actually seen one but I think I recall regular bolts on the anchors. So tighten will push on the anchor and place more tension on the bar.
The only "backwards thing" about them is left is right and right is left.

Jeff's right about that.
If you turn the pass. side adjustment bolt, it raises or lowers the drivers side suspension and vice-versa.
