EE1 Dark Blue 68 hemi RR?? EE1 cars rare?? - 03/02/08 08:37 PM

I have owned my EE1 dark midnight blue 68 hemi road runner for 5 years now does anyone know anything about this color I rarely see it on anything. Pics would be cool of anything this color. Thanks

Had one in the '80s, base automatic RR coupe, blue interior.
Always liked the color, and have this '63 now in EE1.
There's another RR on the board in EE1.

My Dad special ordered a EE1 Sport Satellite new. It also had a factory black painted top on it from the factory. What really made it rare was it was 1 of 263 built with a 318 and a 3spd. Including the color combo would have probably made it a one of one. Not that it's desirable though.

I am thinking of buying a buddies '68 383 4-spd EE1 RR, one of the nicest color blues available IMO

Best color......yes. I had a EE1 68 Dart GTS. Best color on any car I've owned. I'd have done my current car that color but wanted original. I like what's on it now but........???

Mine is an original EE1 383 4-speed, but was painted GM ultra blue, car is from Arizona and old owner didn't want a car that dark out their. But wish it was that color now that its in Chicago.

EE1 is a great color. Correct if I'm wrong but it seems Chrysler kind of scaped EE1 after 68. 69 B7 doesn't look the same to me. Did EE1 not sell well?

Are all years of EE1 the same color? Meaning if a car is coded EE1 in say '66 and '67, is it the same?

Also, how close is this color to 2001 Viper Sapphire Blue?

1964 paint code E - Dodge "dark blue metallic" / Plymouth "dark blue metallic"
* is a different color than
1965 paint code E - Dodge "dark blue metallic" / Plymouth "dark blue metallic"
** is a different color than
1966 & 1967 paint code E - Dodge "dark blue metallic" / Plymouth "dark blue metallic"
*** is a different color than
1968 paint code E - Dodge "dark blue metallic" / Plymouth "midnight blue metallic"
*** is a different color than
1969 paint code B7 - Dodge "medium blue metallic" / Plymouth "Jamaica blue metallic"

think of '69 as B7 - '68 as B8 - and all the earlier shades as similar but different B9s.

Great timing. I am restoring an EE1 Blue 1968 Charger.
Got the trunk painted a couple weeks ago..and wow it looks good.....

If i remember right mine is PPG dbc base with 2001 clear. They used the original dupont archive color formula.
