Oil Dipstick for magnum engine... - 08/21/10 04:54 PM

My 408 is almost done and I am having the hardest time finding an aftermarket dipstick.

Is there anything?

I'd like something a little nicer.
I am using the magnum pan too.

Is there anything I can tweak to work?
Lemme know!

For something so stupid I am sure having a hard time finding something.

I have the same problem......

I was thinking of using a flexible (wire) dipstick and adapt the leven to my magnum engine..

Hmm, I'm going to have the same problem

I tried to pull the stick and tube from a mag engine at the junkyard over the weekend, but that's not going to happen. It was in the block too well

Summit has some cheap ones; I'll probably end up doing that.

i recently bought a dipstick tube from the dodge dealer,it was less than $10,mine was for a 3.9 magnum, might be the same as a 318?,if not they will have one for a 318 available, they also have the oem dipstick available,or am i missing something??

Buy one from your local Dodge dealer.

you did make sure the tube is not broke off in the block..correct?

it will have to be drivin out from the bottom with pan off..I would double check it.

dealer has the stock tube

lokar sells a nice flex one

never had any luck with an after market chrome one,i either broke it going in or it just would not go in

when i had to drive out the broken stub from the bottom i found a drill bit that just fit the hole, turned it around and drove on the sharp end, stub came right out!!
