Replacement Slap Stick spring - 08/07/10 02:56 AM

Anyone know if these are being reproduced? I haven't been able to find one. Mine broke so when I go 1-2-D; neutral isn't locked out. Is there another spring I can substitute?

Not so funny story...I dropped the set screw to the shifter knob and it fell under the carpeting. I think I'll have to pull my seats out so I can roll up the carpet to get to it. I'm such an idiot.

Here's a picture of the wee spring I need to replace,

If you go to a good hardware store like Ace they will have hundreds of springs in various shapes and sizes. I bet you can find one that works. If necessary you can get a longer one, cut it and form a new hook.

They'll have set screws also...

I might have one you can have, it would be a surface-rusty original but would probably last forever. If you can live with that let me know.

This question just came up on another site. He went with a #75 spring from Ace Hardware.
