Anyone installed a 4l80e in an A body? What clearance issues need to be addressed? Thanks

Search for posts by dmerc. He put a 700r4 into his duster. IIRC, a 700r4 is basically a hydraulic version of the 4l80e with weaker internals.

I cut out the supporting channel under the tunnel but after I got it all installed I don't think it really had to be removed. This channel also runs to the sides and is part of the torsion bar support so I had to fab a new trany mount that tied the torsion bar assy together and at the same time gave me more clearance for the trans oil pan. Hope this helps

4l80 is a bigger trans than the 4l60(700r4). Will be tight fit.

I know Brian used a GM based trans on this one, but have no idea what model trans it is. And could probably find out if needed. I know the builder/shop manager and the cars owner.
But there are lots of good pictures to help along the way.
