1970 Coronet hoods

A few questions. First, does anyone make a reproduction hood for the 70 Coronet?

Second, is the standard Coronet hood drilled in the braces to mount the N96 Ramcharger package?

Does anyone have correct dimensions and positions for the fresh air cutouts and/or mounting holes for the ramcharger or scoops?

Where do the hood pins bolt down? Are there brackets or do existing locations near or on the core support need to be drilled?

when i bought my '70 coronet 440 it was already cloned to a bee but the hood bracing was definitely already punched for the scoops and hood pins. i'm sure about the pins because mine were drilled and installed further inboard than they should have been, so when i restored the engine bay i welded the dumb looking holes shut and it's fairly obvious where the correct location is. the pins replace one of the fender bolts to the core support. there is a big hole on the front hood brace and the rubber seal already has a cutout.

I'll take a look for those holes in the core support when I get to the car tonight. There are several holes in the hood bracing on my current hood (non N-96) but I wondered if Chrysler just drilled all their bracing to make it simple.

holes for scoops are there//but holes for clips are not....you could mickey mouse a flat hood......here is a pic of a N96 Hood.. not mine but a member here

Somebody onsite has a drawing showing the dims and I'm sure they'll post it. I just found a flat hood in great shape for $25, that's right, $25. They are not as easy to find as you would think. I have a bulge hood on mine but the car is really an N96, bought the hood thinking I'll switch it over someday.

Now how much you gonna sell that bulge hood for?

Don't think I'm going to sell the bulge hood, I actually like it better than the N96 scoops. My real reason for getting the flat hood was to paint it flat black and see how it looks on the car. I've always like the 69 1/2 black hoods but not sure how it would look on the 70 since the hood comes down between the split bumpers. If not I'll look for scoops and an airbox so that if I ever want to return mine to stock I can.

Regardless of what anyone here says, my hood was NOT drilled for dual scoops through the bracing.

I haven't spilled the beans because I don't want to start a moparts crap storm. I'll tell you this. The cuda is sold and I have purchased a BEAUTIFUL 1970 Superbee clone project (roller) in fresh paint and stripes. Problem is that it was delivered last weekend damaged in transit. REALLY damaged...

I am working with the transport company and it's too touchy to make public just yet. As things unfold you will get the whole story. I am really bummed... I am hustling trying to bone up on Coronet information and getting bids on the rapair. The whole thing is a MESS.

My hood is a coronet 500 hood and like yours, the braces were not originally drilled for the scoop bolts. They are however drilled in several places which I assumed MIGHT be for the Ramcharger unit. I need to print out Jeff's (Qwikshift) picture and see what holes line up.
