Camber/Caster gauge recomendations

Camber/Caster gauge recomendations - 06/11/10 08:13 PM

I'm looking for a wheel mounted caster/camber gauge that will work a variety of wheel sizes and types.

I have been measuring camber by just trig'ing out a bubble level measurement and pretty much winging the caster measurement.

I'm not looking for anything fancy and want to keep the cost down but I do want to be able to measure a true camber and caster number. Any suggestions?

Yep
The old magnetic kind ( I have a cave era Snap On ) do great! The best buys are on the circle track sites and magazines--modern units are really very affordable--I bet used are $100 range new $300
Herb McCandless used one to do my race car and hundreds of others--I use "slick" magazines as turn tables when I do one--and even the turn tables are at auctions ALL the time--old garages etc and are pretty cheap on Ebay Once you get used to using one you can do a car in no time and they are very accurate--usually you just pull the grease cap off the drum or rotor and you are ready to go--I made a flat steel plate and even did my Neon roadrace car with ease--with one of those and a string you can build and line up most anything no matter what folks say. Good luck!
