Front Spring Hanger same on 71, 72 B-body as 73, 74 - 06/08/10 01:35 AM

Is the front spring hanger on a 71, 72 B-body the same as the one used on a 73, 74 B-body?

74 is the exception... they used a smaller bolt to fit a thicker isolator on front bushing, so the hole is smaller.

however the fitment on body is exactly the same in all 71/74

Thnaks. Didn't 74 go to the oval shaped spring eye?

well, not in my case or several I have seen. Ovals are Station wagons and maybe sedans too I think

then also C bodies

if you get a 74 bracket you simply can enlarge the hole to fit on earliers, and will be done. Backwards will be moslty sure harder to do.

I will be needing a 74 bracket pretty soon BTW.

Every 74 I've seen has had the oval spring eye, of about (6) 74 parts cars.

The oval break more than others and many have been changed to the round type.. Sometimes one side only....

well not in my case... who knows why. ( beside mine was assemblied in Venezuela, not in USA )

whatever is the reason, go for the sure side and get 71/73s
