Should yellow park lights turn off when headlights on

Testing lights on my 68 Satellite and when the light switch is on park mode all running light except headlights are on. When I swich to headlight mode the front bumper yellow lights turn off and obviously the headlight turn on. Does that seem correct on a 68 Satellite or is there something wrong with my switch? One more thing, with the headlights on and the front yellow lights off they still work for turning signaling.

DOT law changed in 69 so the park/turn lights are on when headlights are on IIRC

and your other Q, there's 2 filaments in each bulb, a small one for the above park lights and a brighter one for the turn signals
