HOOD SPRINGS - 02/09/10 07:38 PM

Does anybody know of a supplier for low tension hood springs? I am running a 70-72 Duster fiberglass hood. Thanks

AtomicDog is the guy I got mine from. Look in the classifieds for his add if this link doesn't take you to it.

I put a fiberglass hood on my 69 Satellite & ordered the low tension springs from the same company (MAS) the springs where too strong. So I went down to my local hardware store & they had a nice selection of springs for screen /storm doors used on houses. Took the MAS low tension ones with me & picked out a pair a bit softer & same length as the MAS ones & they are working nicely.

I am not sure but I think you have a different style of spring. Mine are wound into a coil.

Yep - Dusters use a flat spring like a watch spring, way different - like those in the pic in the link above.
