I know the over all width is about 3inch different. I do not think the extra 1.5 inches on each side will be an issue, but what does everyone else think? With the stock wheels i still should have no problems I think, and if I do i'm sure i could buy wheels with enough offset to clear.
Also, as far as the perches, i believe they're about 1.5 inches off. My guess would be to just cut them and re-weld.
Oppinions?
Remember, I HAVE all of this already. So, i would like to not have to go out and buy something else if I could make this work. I only wanna get something else if this just flat won't work.

I dont see why it wouldnt work...but get new perches since the F perches have a MUCH larger leaf spring register hole in them due to the iso clamp arrangement that you wont be using. Or you could weld in a large washer

Thanks for the input. I am going to check my clearance with the spring perch, but an idea I had was to simply weld some .200 plate steel underneath the pad and drill new holes in the new location.
Not sure i am going to have the room to do so though. If i cut them off, ill just make new ones to weld on with the apropriate hole diameter.

The member Scamp Collector has an 8.25 F body rear in his '71 Scamp. Says it works fine

I think it'll be too tight
I used a B body 8 3/4 in my 69 dart.
It was only 1" difference, and tire clearance was not the greatest. IT was doable, but far from ideal.

Mine is a Dart swing with the semi-skirted rear fenders. I am getting the car on the lift tomorrow and gonna be doing a lot of measuring. I plan on keeping the car (and therefore tire selection) fairly stock in appearance. So I hope with the narrow rears it won't be an issue. But it still may.
I THINK i only have about 2 inches or so as it is per side from the outside of the tire wall to the fender. With only 1/4 of an inch clearance with the F-body axle, i don't think that'd be a good idea. But again, ill know tomorrow. Maybe i could post some photos.
Funny you said that a bout the 8.8, I actually just picked one up just in case. Because at least around here, they are way more plentiful than A-body 8.25. AND it only cost me 60 bucks from the pick-your-part. Haven't figured the ratio though yet, i'll just turn the axle until the pinion yoke does one full turn. It'll get me a good rounds-abouts.

F body rear would be about right if you wanted to use mustang wheels, could use them in the rear without spacers.
if you want to get rid of it, post it on the forums at dippy.org, there's always M body guys looking for 8.25 axles....seems to be a number of M body guys on the east coast (jersey up thru mass) that would be semi-local.
