gold master cylinder cap a body - 12/14/09 11:36 PM

hello does any one have a gold cad master cylinder cap for sale or know were i can get one. I have ordered master cylinders from all the part stores around here none of them have it on it. I did pick up one with the same casting #s on it but none with the gold top. For 1971 a body drum brake car.

There used to be someone on here that did it.It was the spray bomb method but it looked good enough for me.Most people say that my 70 should be black but I like cast master cylender and gold cap.

For plating, I use Eric Manuel on the board: username 3404, IIRC.

Take it to a local plating shop and tell them you want Yellow Zinc Chromate plated on it. It's sort of iridescent, so it will have green hues and maybe some red colors depending on the light angle. There is usually a plating minimum charge ($50-$75), so take along a bunch of parts that needs the yellow zinc.

The master cylinders for both my '75 drum brake Duster and the Stepson's Roadrunner came with the chromated covers. Both from Auto Zone.
