OK guys, if you put a Milidon "7 quart" pan on your RB motor, add 7 quarts of oil and your universal dipstick from 440 source says you're still 1.5 to 2 quarts low, do you add more oil to reach the "full" mark on the stick or remark the stick?

A 7 qrt pan + the filter will need 8 qrts, correct?

7 quarts in the pan, + .5-.75 for the filter, scribe a mark on your
super accurate dipstick. done.

throw 7qts in pan,level surface,mark stick at that point,start car & level will decrease ~ 3/4 qt as filter fills.top off back to full mark.

Deep pans are to get oil away from the crankshaft, not for added capacity.

Put as little in as possible as long as the pickup never gets uncovered. 7 quarts in a 7QT pan is a waste. I'd try 5.5 to 6max.
