School me on 2-3/4" front B/E body calipers... - 12/11/09 06:30 AM

My truck is down at Scarebird's shop, where Mark is dreaming up a disc conversion.

It looks like it will likely use a Ford rotor and E-body calipers.

So, here's my question: looking at the caliper list in the tech archives, there are a number of calipers which have the same 2.75" piston diameter as the 70-72 B-body and 70-74 E-body caliper. The 73-5 B-body and the F-M-J series cars had the same size piston; will these calipers interchange?

Thanks all!

If it's still a pin style caliper it will bolt on, if it's the other style a different caliper adapter will bolt to the same spindle... The flex hose also changed from a thread in style to a banjo bolt style...

as said some are pin and some are sliders. the hose mounting location MAY be different on different apps of the same type (both sliders and pin types)
