4.080" pistons... where? - 12/04/09 10:17 PM
I'm trying to find pistons for my 340/418 stroker build. It needs to run on premium pump gas - using eddy performer rpm heads (65cc chambers). So far I could only find 2, a dished one from KB and a flat top one also from KB. I would love to run some coated hyper pistons... but can't find any! :-\
Thanks for any help...

Unless something's changed recently, off the shelf 4.08 bore stroker pistons is not going to happen, but most any of the piston mfgrs will make them any size you want, and it's not all that much more $$$ - at least it wasn't when I bought mine.

Diamond makes a 4.080 dish for that, with a dish. It'd be about 9.5 to 1 with 65 cc heads. Part number 51413. It's a non-stocking number, so it's made to order, just not stocked on the shelf. Same price as shelf stock items.

Since you are racing do yourself a favour and get a diamond custom piston. with aluminum heads and a big cam you can run 11 to 1 or more on 91
252/262 110 lobe center would be a good start??
lots hear for that marv

Dam you building two strokers?? What about the leaning tower of power?? With the clifford valve cover!!
Diamond will build you what you want in two weeks out the door or less. that 9.5 to one piston would work good on the street with a mild cam.
You know when I seen eddy I thought didn't he had a couple sets of W5's?? LOL!!

Do yourself a favor and run the forged pistons. They will handle tons more abuse than the hyperucracktic pistons and they're lighter too.

here's a heads-up. hypereutectic pistons aren't built for street use and won't last. they are made for race only. my

I gave you the wrong part number for that piston. That one has the small block chevy pin size. The mopar pin size number is 51412. They also make a flat top, number 51010, and would yield about 11 to 1. The gas is so bad today, you just can't run that high on the street. Keep in mind, not all detonation is able to heard.

Letting you guys know I am going with the Diamond 51412's. Just ordered them from Mancini a few minutes ago - I asked to speak to Wes and he gave me a $35 discount for a set of 8.
