demon 6pack air cleaner

hello all does any one know the part number for the filter needed for this air cleaner that mr norm put on 71 6pack demons

Let me know if you find a "over the counter" filter for it. I have cut a real 6-pack filter and modified it to fit. Had a few sugestions about trying a large round filter and "molding" it to fit the oval shape of the air cleaner assembly. Right now I ordered a Ford 427 390 FE tri-power dual quad oval air filter that's close, but won't know till it comes in for sure or not. Will post the number if it works.
It supposed to be about 20 3/4 inches long, 9 1/2 inches wide 1 1/4 inches thick and 1 3/4 inches tall. I know its a bit small but might be able to shape it once I get it in my hands. Also was told to go to parts store and get product reasearch phone number, and call to give them dimetions and they can tell me the correct part number for it. Tried with K&N, and they said they had no filter that would work. Hmmm.....

I ASSUME YOU MEAN THE AIR CLEANER THAT SAYS "TRI-POWER". I USED A K&N FILTER FOR A 1990 MERCEDES 190 1.8 LITER . K&N PART NUMBER IS E-9178. I HAVEN'T TRIED A FRAM FOR THE SAME APPLICATION BUT IT WOULD BE WORTH A SHOT SINCE THE K&N COST ME $60

Look here for an air filter element.
They are K & N filters, but you can get them.

BALDWIN PA632 will get you a air filter element that your looking for.
I dug out my oval 6bbl air cleaner (tri power) unit from my stash of parts, and that's the paper type of element that i have.

went to the parts store so i can cross refrence the part # might have a lead on some of the #s i will get back when i know if its right thks ed
ps i went to a mopar show and there was two of the air cleaners there one was a made to fit from k&n for $87.00 bucks and the other one was a big 6pack cut down to fit .

Found 1 other number, CA313, to add to that list, but most of the numbers I have found cross back to the K&N filter-E1960.

It's a Ford/Cobra site, but has the same type of Air Cleaners availiable. Just call the tech line and tell them the dimensions you need and they'll help you out. Found 1 link that had 6 filters for $80 on their site- http://store.cobranda.com/ovairfisixpa.html

I still think the www.bfwebexpress.com/catalog.asp page with the baldwin PA632 filter is the best deal so far. Only you have to order over $50 worth of anything to have them ship it. But a case (6) is only $64.39 there. YMMV...

Price is great, but a $20 minimun, so you have to buy 2. At that price tho, one for show, and one for daily driving.

hello i just got the pa632 filter in today and it does not fit buy any mean the tri power demon air filer its to long so not sure whats the right filter # any more thks ed

When you figure out what filter fits,I'm interested on a buy in as I have one of these air cleaners also.

Ok, Gotta ask for sure. What air cleaner do you have, Here is the one that Mr Norm used. You also mentioned it as a Demon air cleaner, which is another different air cleaner completely. Where did you buy the air filter from, and who makes it? It wasn't a substitute was it?

And here is the "Demon" air cleaner. It's sold with the 3 Demon Carbs, to update your 6-pack systems. Now you have me wondering what you have. I know you said it was installed by Mr Norm on the GSS Demons. Do you have a picture of yours? The filter numbers all cross to the same dimensions. I have checked on the Cobra website and they have different sizes. You might call them and give your dimensions and see what they tell you. Keep us posted as to what you come up with.

i have the one in your picture tri power air cleaner

well i got the pa632 to fit had to cut 1 5/16 out on each side and trim down all around to fit air cleaner its to thick but you can make it work with a grinder and some time.
