'71 GTX ride height - 10/24/09 01:29 AM

My car is sitting way too high at the back. There's an 1.8" of air between the top of the tire and bottom of the wheel well lip.

There's 5 springs in each leaf with a mini leaf (about a foot long) that sticks under and in front of the shackles but doesn't protrude behind. So it looks like 6 leafs in the front of the axel and 5 behind. I have no idea what make they are but they are very firm.

Two questions:

1. Whats the stock right height or should the car sit level with the top of the tire, assuming a regular tire? I'm thinking it should hide about the top .5" of the tire.

2. Whats the best way to deal with these springs, re'arc them or buy new ones?

Yeah it's way to high. I agree with the .5 cover of the rear tire.

I would purchase new OEM height springs from ESPO. You most likely have super stock springs and thus the reason it sits so high. IMHO, not worth de arching and really cheap to just buy the "correct" ones for the look you want.
