Early hemi? - 10/17/09 12:50 AM

I am in dire need of GOOD information about the C.I # and year my hemi has been made. All i know is it came out of an old truck, it has no water ports in the fronts of the heads, doesn't have the built in bell housing(so not a 331), has dual single barrel holley "Governor" Set up, I took off the intake manifold assembly and the val. pan and found no numbers except a few on the back of the timing chain cover that disapear into the seam. I also found a W3 inside the block under val. pan. Any good free information you have, please help me out! thanks

There should be a number stamped in front of valley cover on top rail of block right behind water pump. If it's an industrial motor there should be a tag riveted somewhere on side of block. Get me that number

there should be a number pad at the front of the block above the timing cover that will indicate year, displacement, and production #. what are your plans for the intake ?

I checked between val. pan and water pump, there is only a raised section of the block no numbers? I will post pictures tomorrow night to help you have a little better understanding.
