Heater hose outlet on a small block waterpump - 07/05/08 08:59 PM

I am not using the outlet on the waterpump for the heater but I have to block it off somehow. Has anyone ran into this problem and what did you do? Thanks

You can get caps for them at the parts stores, I cut the hose off and put a pipe plug in it and clamped it, guys have also tapped them for a pipe plug.

Measure the inside diameter of the bung and go from there. I'd guess 5/8" as that's the I.D. of the larger hose.

Its 3/8 NPT into the water pump. At least for a '69 water pump it is.
