Looking for a quality engine builder in chicagoland or northwest indiana to build my 440. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Try Opel Engineering in Streamwood, IL. They did my 340 about 6 years ago and I have been very happy with it. They do lots of Mopar engines and I think the guy that owns it used to drag race a Duster back in the day!

Hughes Engines are 2 hrs south. Could be worth the trip.

or Chenoweth Speed & Machine - www.chenowethspeedandmachine.com.

They did quite nicely in the last Mopar Muscle Engine Challenge.

You willing to go to the Milwaukee area? Kilpatrick Racing in Waukesha, a Milwaukee suburb, is a dedicated Mopar engine builder & drag racer. He built my stroker small block, and did a fine job on it...

Dale and Mike are both a class act...

They're about 900 miles away from me and I'd still pay the extra freight costs to do business with them.

I will second both Jim Kilpatrick or Opel, both have a loyal following.
Also the Hughes people have built a couple of nice motors for guys I know.
You may want to post the same question over in the race forum, they tend to do a lot of R&D and have good contacts.
My buddy just has a small block done by the Shady Dell guy ( Dale? ) and it is WOW.
