7 1/4 sure grip??? - 07/06/09 02:05 AM

Just throwing this out there. I just picked up 70 Valiant 4dr. TX9 TX9 /6 with a 7 1/4 sure grip with 2:76 gears. Build sheet was still in the back seat. The car was ordered as per the build sheet. Is this an odd ball? I have never seen a 7 1/4 sure grip before. Has anyone else? Is it rare or a boat anchor? No plans on taking it out.
Thanks MOPARTS

Not exactly common but arn't really rare either.

They are known to be a little tougher than the open diff version.

They are unusual, but as said before not that rare. Any towing or performance ordered car usually got upgraded to a heavier rear.

The 7.25 SG units pop up all the time on the Slant boards.

Any photos of the car? I LOVE 1970 Valiants.

Barry, I sent you a copy of the sheet for this Valiant along with a few others. I'll get BMJ to send a few pics your way, looks tough with the dark tinted windows that the previous owner put on
