Help ID a used cam shaft

Help ID a used cam shaft - 07/02/09 07:16 PM

Guy gave me what he was told was a Mopar Purple Cam, no idea of specs, came out of a 318 that had a real lumpy idle that the wifey didn't like.
He gave it to me in a Federal Mogul box
Any thing I could look for on the shaft to get spec's. I think there was a barcode on the box.
Thanks for any help, working right now, don't have the piece with me, will check in later in with some more info.

Mike or caliper up a lobe at its peak and at its midsection, subtract the distance across its midsection from its peak and multiply by 1.5, then see what comes close in the catalog. That'll get ya in the ballpark.

Thanks Six, I'm seeing some stampings on the shaft and what looks like a tag welded on the unit, I will have to clean it up to read the numbers.
