67 GTX Question - 06/25/09 04:41 PM

Hey guys, I saw this on e-pay and i got to thinking. Didnt the 67 GTX come standard with a 150mph speedo and also the tail lights are wrong on this car. I do believe that this is a belvedere or satillite

Vin is correct for a gtx. The taillights and speedo could have been changed at some point in the past.

....I believe that the Satty and the X used the same tail lights, and the Belvedere's were different..not sure about the 150 speedo ..i thought it was a GTX option only but maybe not..

Definetly not GTX lights or dash. That thing will cost a fortune to buy the correct parts for.Rocky

Seeing how those tailights are prone to damage and are difficult to find and expensive to replace, I'm not suprised to see Belvedere lights in it.

Satellite tail lights are actually the same as GTX in '67. Only the Belvedere versions used those lights.

Gee, I'd sell my almost running 67 Satellite that is much better shape than that for less than that one.

I saw that GTX on Ebay too. That is not the correct speedo and correct tail light lens cost $250 or better each. Seemed like alot for a clunker. Hood was not right either.

Two years ago I sold a '67 GTX project car less motor and trans but with all the GTX specific parts, with a very good body and glass, for $3400. This guy is smoking something illegal.

well it is a 4 speed dana car...that said it needs a lot of expensive parts, not to mention complete resto. FWIW you can make a GTX finish panel from a 'lite. All it takes is some paint and steady hands. Thetail lights and the tail light bezels are $$$$$$$
