Alum Head Question - 06/14/09 02:16 AM

I bought a set of 440 Source alum heads for the 500 stroker I'm putting in my 65 Polara wagon.Sent them out to my buddys machine shop to have them checked out. Both heads cc the same 82.5 on one end increasing to 86 cc's on the other. How much will my compression ratio vary if I run them as is ? I'm probably better off to have them bring them all to 86 cc though i guess? I know a bunch of guys that never checked the heads out and just ran them as is ....what do y'all think I should do.And while i'm on the topic...what do you think for cam and convertor.....gonna be a driver...500 Weiand hirise six pack...tti's and a 3.55 gear in a heavy c body wagon.

about .3 difference in compression not enough to really worry about but why not make them both 82.5??

I called up Racer Brown with the specs for my 496 six pack stroker in my '65 Coronet. Best money I spent on the project.
