Geezzzh, I hope not!!! If I did it is an oversight on my part.

This is another engine that a guy wants to sell. Unfortunately don't know my codes for engines. The owner claims it came out of New Yorker

If it is another truck motor, then that's all I'm finding

6T = 1976
440 = 440
T = Trenton
E = not sure but it may be the body style (E-body)
318 may be month(March), 1(first day), 8 (eighth engine assembled that day

I certainly won't mind if someone else says that's all wrong.

There should be more codes on the oil pan rail.

6= 1976 model year
T= assembled at Trenton engine plant
440 = CID
T= for use in a truck
E= cast crank
318 assembled March 18th, 1976

Worth taking a look at. The light truck motors are basically the same as passenger car motors so no big deal. The HD truck motors used different heads and a different cooling system.
