69 C-body heat/A/C problem - 04/26/09 01:20 PM

On my 69 Polara I am getting no heat. The heater hoses are hot up to the water valve and the hoses after the valve are cold. Is this going to be a vacuum, valve or switch problem????? Thanks for your help!

Could be either or both.Is ther vacuum going to the valve? Its been a while since I played with those.Id start it check vacuum with heat on and off and see if it has vacuum.Could be in the temp part also.Rocky

That is what is called heater control valve, notoriously stuck shut.I have bought several over my mopar owning years. As long as cables are hooked up under dash and work when levers are put to hot or cold and dampers open and closed.Always bought them at napa and solved problem.

As mentioned, typical culprit is the vacuum operated heater valve under the hood. If there is no vacuum at the valve, are all the heater doors opening and closing as they should? If not, check the vacuum at the reservoir under the hood. Check it first, since it is easy to check. All vacuum controlled devices are powered off it.

If the doors are working, then pull out the controls and check the vacuum actuator valve on the end of the temperature control lever. The water valve is controlled by it.

If it is the water valve, there are after market replacements as mentioned, or MegaParts also has correct appearing ones at a reasonable price.
