Spark Plug designation

Spark Plug designation - 02/09/24 10:06 PM

I'm trying to replace the spark plugs in my 1952 Desoto (with the flathead six). The manual calls for an AR8, which i believe is an Autolite brand. Anyway, I can't find that particular series at any of the normal national chain auto parts stores. Does anyone have a source that has this specific plug or at least a reliable cross-reference to a series currently available? Thanks for any assistance.

Look it up by application, RockAuto lists many options. The AR8 is an old designation. The modern number is 306 for resistor, 295 for non-resistor if you are looking for Autolites. I run the 306 in my 51 Plymouth.
