Engine Fan - 70 383 auto with 22" radiator - 01/17/24 11:26 PM

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 2863224 and 2863226 engine fans? From what I can tell there seems to be none.

I have a 2863226 fan I thought was correct for my 70 383 auto roadrunner but am findng that the 2863224 is the right one. After looking at each, I am having trouble determining what differentiates them.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Looking it up in the 70-71 parts book I don't see the '26 listed. What it does look like for those that are listed is the major differences are that the one for your 383 is 18"s while most the ones for other models are 17"s. And there were a couple that were 18.5"s for Hemi and some 340 cars.

GG's "white book" shows the "224" for a lot of cars & the "226" for 1973 318 powered C-bodies (both 18" diameter) with no listing for the pitch on the "226"

Ya, I saw that in the white book as well.

Both are non clutch, 18", 7 blade fans that, for all practical purposes, mirror one another. I will check the pitch on the '26 in the morning. The only other thing that could potentially differ is the tip of the '24 fan may have a flat cut across each blade tip whereby the '26 blade tips appear more evenly rounded.

I don't think it would make a difference running the '26 vs. the '24 other than personal preference but my anal self needs to know!

Thanks my Mopar friends.

Edit:
224 on left. When side by side like this, differeces appear pretty obvious. I have a 226 in hand but no 224 to compare mine with physically. Just going off pictures at this point.

Thanks for the attachment advice Moparx! Appreciate it. Feel kind of stupid as that turned out to be pretty obvious/easy.

when posting pics, look at the "post options" below the "post icon" section.
you will see a paperclip with a highlighted "attachment manager", and [total files : 0]
click on that.
you will then be directed to a box that says :

Attachment Manager
File Caption (255 characters max)

[then a box here that says ; "select a file to attach" and a box that says : "done"]

or drag it here
Maximum size per file is 4 MB.
Attached Files
You can attach up to 4 files total.
This post does not currently have any attachments.

you can then insert up to four pictures from your "storage", at which time a message will appear that says "you have reached the maximum amount of attachments" [or something like that]
if you only want to post up to three, there is a box that will come up saying "done" [or something similar] you click.

it really is a lot easier than it sounds.
if i can do it, a "cave man can"......... biggrin
however, i only have a desk top setup, so i can't say anything about a phone. [except i can make phone calls on one. laugh2] some phone users say it works, while others say it can't be done.

After watching the Engine Masters episode on fans there is no way I would ever run one of those fans on anything other than a 100% correct resto, they eat hp.

I know , it was eye opening, I need to figure out what fan to run on my big block dart in factory appearing racing, the the only available fan is the 7 blade fixed with a 5/8" spacer , no room to run a clutch fan..
