1970 Cuda Power Window Question

Hi Everyone,

Working on a 70 Cuda with power windows for the first time. Biggest issue is the passenger

door. The window seems to come down fine, but going up from all the way down it stops

about 1" up. It seems to bind up, I give it a little pull and it will go, but very slowly. I greased

the runners and rollers, no luck.

Is there a particular adjustment I should be looking at?

Do you have "new" cat whiskers ??? Seems many are "tight" on the windows . . .

Is the lift spring on the regulator in place and not broken?

I will look, but don't remember seeing a spring. Where would it be located?

Not having a PW car I'm thinking this is the "lift spring". Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct sir. The reason for it is the weight of the window itself. It is no needed so much coming down for the same reason it is going up, IE: the weight of the window helps wind the spring coming down and the tension of the spring helps when raising the window

Another problem, I have the rear quarter glass lined up nice, but it goes up about 1/4" too far, I don't see any
upper bump stops anywhere. Is there an adjustment for this?

Yeap: that would have addressed all the questions here.
Geez: most are online these days, not like you have to buy one.
