#on block are 0R190026 what would the beginning of the vin be supposedly was a 70 340 swinger

The Windsor plant made 340 Darts and Dusters.

LM23HOR190026 is a VIN for a 70 Dart Swinger 340...R is Windsor, Ontario, Canada where they were made then...

I thought he said the numbers on the block. The 340 blocks I've had over the years had a P up to 1972-3, then R. I must be getting senile.

Those are engine serial numbers on the front of the block.

The 0R 190026 is the engine partial VIN number on the passenger side of the block in this case.

The engine serial number was stamped when the engine assembly was completed.

Later on, when the engine and transmission as a pair were ready to go into a car, the partial VIN for that car was stamped.

Yeah, I forgot about the ones by the pan rail. I never look at those since I'm not a restoration guy. I only need one original 340, and it's in my Barracuda.

Most 70 340 dusters Ive seen were built at hamtramk, but im in ohio, so I assume regionally thats where ohio cars would have shipped from?
