1971 Dodge Dart/Demon front end kit - 01/24/23 09:42 PM

Who sells the “correct” front end rebuild kit (complete) for a 1971 Dodge Demon, the OE parts, not poly.

Many places, but do be aware that today's rubber suspension components typically fail prematurely. Brand to my knowledge doesn't matter. Might Try Rare parts as they do offer quality and A lifetime warranty, PST does as well but I'd trust rare parts 1st bu tyou may find a substantial price difference wink twocents

whatever you do, stay away from moog brand parts.
for the last 15 years or so, a lot of those parts are made elsewhere than here in this country, and the rubber is poor quality. it will not last at all. i am stating this on my personal experience over this time period up to today, as friends have insisted on using these parts over my objections, then are very disappointed that cracks in bushings and splits in grease boots appear in less than 6 months, no matter how few miles are on the parts.
i have used "mevotech" brand parts, and those are better, but i have only used sway bar bushings and links, so i can't comment on ball joints or tie rod ends.
i have heard and seen "proforge" parts are supposed to be a good brand these days, but i have no experience with those items. [yet]
just my personal experiences and opinion here. your mileage will vary.

1. Before you replace everything, inspect each of your used parts to determine if some are still good. Keep original factory parts in good condition and don't replace.
2. Check out the price of NOS parts that you really need. Quality is unquestioned.

I bought a complete front end rebuild kit for my 160,000 mile A body, then found that some of my factory original parts were still good:
Tie rod ball joint ends, inner
Tie rod ball joint ends, outer
Tie rod tubes with clamps
Pitman arm ball joint

The lower ball joints were just barely out of spec at 160,000 miles according to the factory service manual.

Ended up replacing upper and lower ball joints and all dust seals with NOS. Replaced all bushings with Rock Auto aftermarket. There are several sellers of original style bushings, but many of them are actually made by Harris and rebranded. I've used Harris bushings for years with no problems.

Does anyone have experience with Spicer "Blue" professional series parts?
This is what is mentioned in the description from BRE's rebuild kits.
