Engine dyno near Sacramento - 11/25/22 07:22 PM
Is there a Mopar friendly engine dyno shop near Sacramento? Really just looking for oil leaks on a fresh rebuild so I could modify my storage stand into a run stand as Plan B.

Putting an engine on a dyno and making a few pulls is going to cost you at least $1000 and probably closer to $2000 these days. That is a lot of money just to check for oil leaks.

THIS^^^^^. Find a good dyno shop and learn things. You’d be surprised what you can find with some careful testing.

I used Vintage Hot Rod in Chico Ca. It cost me $750 for as many pulls as I wanted. Great group of guys. They do not have a website, but are on Facebook …

Thanks, I will give Vintage Hot Rod a call. Its bit far, but I see modifying my storage stand won't work. I don't have any 4 speed stuff so would have to mount a 727 on the back for the starter provisions.
I might have to modify a friend's run stand that last had a 1275cc Mini Cooper engine on it.

I guess it’s all perspective.......
Looks like Chico is about 1-1/2hrs from Sacto.
To me, that seems like a very reasonable drive to have access to a known decent test facility that’s set up to run the type of engine you need tested.

Worth the drive for sure.
