Fairbanks shift kit question. - 10/07/22 05:16 PM

I'm looking at a Fairbanks performance shift kit for a 727. It states it has 3 different ways to use it, street, heavy duty and full competition, but it doesn't state if it eliminates the need for the kick-down rod assembly. Anyone know anything about this shift kit?

Pretty much the same thing as the Transgo TF-2, must have the KD linkage.

Thanks John, I knew I could count on you. I'll just use the Transgo TF-3. With headers on my '69 383 'Cuda there's not much room for all that kick down stuff. I see it this way, the firmer the shift the better.

full manual valve body is the only way to eliminate the kick down rod assy, so in the instructions it should state it but like most kits, they don't .
